Claudia Mosier, PsyD, MP
Claudia Mosier is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist in Louisiana and Illinois, and a Medical Psychologist in Louisiana. Most of my work has been with LGBTQ+ individuals and in chemical dependency treatment. A particular focus is treating people who have mood disorders and who are HIV+. I’ve worked in residential treatment programs, a methadone maintenance program, psychiatric hospitals, Intensive Outpatient Treatment Programs and on an outpatient basis in private practice. I had a testing practice for many years, providing psychological and neuropsychological assessments. For 3 years in the 1980’s I helped teach the first doctoral in clinical psychology course on LGBTQ competency. I was the psychologist for the first LGBTQ inpatient dual diagnosis program in Chicago and I developed and ran the first LGBTQ sober living house in Chicago, Living with Pride. I’ve been the Director of Mental Health and Youth Services for the Center on Halsted. For 20 years I worked on a part time basis as a consulting psychologist for the Department of Children and Family Services – working primarily with our “rainbow” youth. I maintain a private practice in Louisiana and Illinois. Adding the ability to prescribe (and un-prescribe) psychotropic medications has widened the scope of how I can help my patients.
