K. Chris Rachal, PhD
Dr. K. Chris Rachal, Ph.D. is a licensed neuropsychologist specializing in neuropsychological evaluation, psychological evaluation, behavioral medicine, and cognitive behavioral therapy for children, adolescents, and adults. He provides assessment and/or psychotherapy to a variety of patient populations including, patients with traumatic head injury or neurological disorders, chronic pain, as well as anxiety and depression. Dr. Rachal earned his Doctorate Counseling Psychology from Ball State University with a specialization in neuropsychology. His training focused on individual psychotherapy, psychoeducational assessments, and neuropsychology. He completed a one-year specialty internship in neuropsychology from the Cincinnati Veterans Affairs Medical Center. After earning his doctorate, he completed a postdoctoral fellowship through the Cincinnati Neuropsychology Consortium which included joint responsibilities at the Cincinnati Veterans Hospital, Airing Neurology, Riverhills Neurology, Drake Rehabilitation Hospital, and Cincinnati Central Mental Health Clinic Forensic Services. Prior to joining Jefferson Neurobehavioral Group practice in 2009, Dr. Rachal served as Director of Neuropsychology and Behavioral Medicine at Southeast Neuroscience Center in Houma, Thibodaux, and Morgan City since returning to Louisiana in 2001. Dr. Rachal is an Associate Professor of Psychology at Nicholls State University where he has been involved with training school psychologists. He also serves as Louisiana Region III’s consulting neuropsychologist with the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospital’s Office for Citizens with Developmental Disabilities.
