Erin L. Skaff, PsyD, MPH

Dr. Erin Skaff is a licensed Clinical Psychologist in both Louisiana and Florida, who has been in practice in the Metairie, New Orleans, and Baton Rouge areas for the past five years. Her clinical practice has included outpatient and inpatient psychological assessment crisis response and therapeutic treatment interventions with a variety of individuals, couples, groups and family members, including those with work related injuries or other related trauma, mood and personality disorders, pain and relationship issues. She works closely with board certified Jefferson Neurobehavioral Group Neuropsychologists and Forensic Psychology practioners as a treatment provider for brain injured or neurologically impaired individuals and is currently affiliated with East Jefferson General Hospital and West Jefferson Medical Center Rehabilitation in Louisiana. She was the program coordinator for the Jefferson Parish Transitional Care Center post-Katrina.  She has served as adjunct faculty at Tulane University, Department of Psychology and is vice president for The Extra Mile Board, a regional non-profit assisting those with severe mental illness, substance dependencies, and related quality of life problems.

Dr. Skaff holds her doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from the Florida School of Professional Psychology. She is a graduate of Newcomb College of Tulane University and has earned Masters’ Degrees in Public Health and Clinical Psychology from the Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine and University of Sarasota Graduate Programs respectively. She trained and worked within the Florida Juvenile Court System and Children’s Homes and then completed her internship in child/adolescent and adult clinical psychology at the Carolinas Medical Center, Behavioral Health Center in Charlotte, North Carolina. Additionally, Dr. Skaff had post-doctoral emergency services, crisis intervention and stress management post-doctoral fellowship training experience at the University of Tennessee, Health Sciences Center, Regional Medical Center, Memphis Police & Fire Departments and post-911 Pentagon Task Force. Dr. Skaff currently is in the Master’s of Science   Clinical Psychopharmocology Program in Baton Rouge.  Her practice includes specialized evaluation, treatment, and training work with law enforcement and other emergency services and health care professionals around crisis, adjustment, job or acute/traumatic stress issues.
