Dr. Megan Alsop has been a Louisiana licensed psychologist since 2011, and is board certified by the American Board of Professional Psychology in Clinical Psychology. Dr. Alsop’s clinical practice includes psychotherapy, psychological assessment, and consultation. She provides the following services:

Dr. Megan Alsop completed a fellowship at Sheppard Pratt Hospital’s Trauma Program, in which she treated and evaluated individuals with extensive physical and sexual abuse childhood histories. This work included outpatient and inpatient treatment and assessment of PTSD and dissociative symptoms, and often accompanying self-harming and suicidal behaviors. She has worked in various settings, including college counseling centers, community mental health clinics (general and LGBT focused), and residential facilities. Her predoctoral internship was focused on working with adults with developmental disabilities, including Intellectual Disability, Autism, and Rett’s among others, with co-occurring psychiatric illnesses.
She graduated from Loyola University Maryland with her Psy.D. of Clinical Psychology, and subsequently taught as adjunct faculty there. She has taught at a number of other colleges and universities, including Loyola University New Orleans, Delgado Community College, and TCSPP at Xavier University of Louisiana, in which she also acted as the Director of Clinical Training for the clinical psychology doctoral program for three years. She also serves as a peer reviewer for the Journal of Professional Psychology: Research and Practice.
